About Us
We are Beverley Theatre Company, keeping theatre alive in Beverley!
The company was formed originally as the Beverley St Nicholas Players in 1946 by a group of amateur theatre enthusiasts, and for the next 36 years, they staged several productions each year in their home at St Nicolas Church Hall.
In 1983, the Players moved to the Beverley Memorial Hall and changed their name to the Beverley Theatre Company. Since its formation, the company has staged nearly 200 productions including several successful touring plays. The Beverley Theatre Company is now one of East Yorkshire's foremost amateur theatre groups. We are grateful for the support we receive from all our patrons and in particular our audience.
The group currently meets twice a week at Norwood church hall, Beverley for rehearsals. Tuesdays 8:30 PM until 10 PM and Fridays 8 PM until 10 PM
We normally perform two plays per year, one in April and the second in November.
