The Vicar of Dibley
Post date: Sep 18, 2017 7:09:56 PM
A stage play by Ian Gower and Paul Carpenter adapted from the original TV series by Richard Curtis and Paul Mayhew-Archer, with kind permission of Tiger Aspect Productions.
Wednesday 8th November to Saturday 11th November 2017
at The Memorial Hall, Beverley. Curtain-up 7.30pm.
Beverley Theatre Company are happy to announce that their next production will be “The Vicar of Dibley”, based on the popular BBC comedy series starring Dawn French.
When we looked at possible productions we were unanimous in our decision to put on “The Vicar of Dibley”. The play is an amalgamation of several episodes from the hit TV show by Richard Curtis and Paul Mayhew-Archer, adapted for the stage by Ian Gower and Paul Carpenter and, as such, all royalties go directly to Comic Relief, a charity we are very pleased to support.
In keeping with the original series, the action takes place mainly in the Parish Hall, where the Parish Council meets weekly, and in the Vicarage, where Geraldine Granger, the new vicar, entertains a variety of odd but loveable characters. She aims to spread love throughout the community and finds it returned, sometimes with surprising results.
You’ll meet all your old friends from the series – Owen, David, Hugo, Alice, Frank, Jim and Letitia – who will take you on a hysterical journey from Geraldine’s first arrival to …….well, wait and see!
“The Vicar of Dibley” will be performed each night at 7.30 pm from Wednesday 8th November to Saturday 11th November 2017.
Tickets are priced at £7.50 per Adult, £6.50 for Concessions or a Family Ticket for £19.00,
