‘Role Play’ by Alan Ayckbourn – Beverley Memorial Hall, 26th – 29th April 2017, Curtain Up 7.30.

Beverley Theatre Company are happy to announce their next production. ‘Role Play’ is an Alan Ayckbourn comedy, set in an apartment in London’s Docklands on a wet and stormy evening in March. The main characters are newly engaged Julie-Ann and Justin, who are preparing a dinner party to announce their forthcoming nuptials in the company of the dreaded soon to be in-laws, Derek and Dee from Doncaster, and Arabella from Surrey and her Swedish boyfriend Olaf.

Though some cracks in their relationship are already beginning to show they are still intent on getting married.

During the evening Justin discovers how highly strung his fiancé is and discovers that his father in-law-to-be Derek has overt homophobic and racist tendencies that he feels compelled to share with him.

The evening is destined for disaster as his distressed neighbour Paige (as in 3) takes refuge in his apartment from her violent boyfriend Rudy and his bodyguard Micky.

The play will be performed with kind permission from Samuel French Ltd, at 7.30pm, from Wednesday 26th April until Saturday 29th April at the Beverley Memorial Hall, Lairgate, Beverley with licensed bar (except Wednesday). Tickets are priced at £7.00 for adults and £6.00 for concessions and are available either:
